Back to bathtubs! I have a thing about bathtubs that come with shelves / storage space built in, it makes them blend into the bathroom even more and if you have a matching furniture set to go with the tub you are pretty close to having a complete, great looking bathroom. The problem with that is the fact that matching tub and furniture sets are rare, and more often than not, the ones that are available aren’t exactly the most beautiful pieces you will see. Metro 2, a minimalistic tub by MTI is one of the few bathtubs that have a matching vanity we really liked. At 151.6 x 106.68 x 50.8 cm (59.75″ x 42″ x 20″) it is just the right size for a medium-small to mid-sized bathroom, with the four small shelves on the front size reducing the need for additional furniture. Metro tubs are fully customizable, you can choose between soaking, whirlpool and “ultra-whirlpool” options for each of three possible systems (Soaker / Whirlpool, System Aria and System Aria Elite, click here for more info) which will set you back from $1,644 to $8,388. The tub sorround and the matching vanity come in a number of colors and finishes including Ebony, Cherry, Espresso, Onyx, Cameo and Basil. According to the manufacturer’s website every product is “beautifully handcrafted …. Only the finest hardwoods are used, and each piece is built and finished by hand”, due to the hand-manufacture process furniture items take up to six weeks to be crafted after the order is made. The matching vanity is available in 24, 30, 36, 48 and 60 inch versions.
