A TV set in the bathroom might not sound all that high-tech in todays day and age, but how would you feel about a TV that is embedded into your bathroom vanity mirror and when it’s turned off it blends in and becomes a part of the mirror itself? Whoever thought of this concept first is nothing short of a genious. If you liked soaking in your luxurious bathtub, wait untill you install a TV set and say goodbye to your living room sofa for good. And they dont only come inside vanity mirrors! Aquavision is offering shower/bath, mirror and towel rail sets, yes you’ve read that right - towel rail radiator with an TV that turns into a mirror when you switch it off! They don’t come cheap, not much to our surprise, but if someone really wants a TV set in the bathroom a dual function TV/mirror set is a hard option to beat. There seem to be more and more companies offering these waterproof LCD TV sets. Along with the afforementioned Aquavision, there are some interesting models from Seura and other companies.

Bathroom, your private luxury resort

Many people percieve bathrooms as a part of their home that has a purely functional purpose. Bathroom is a place where you go when you have to, not a place where you go when you want to relax or have fun. Being possibly the most private and intimate place in every home, your bathroom should be much more than that. A bathroom should be the place you can retreat to when you need that long overdue break. Of course, that idea just doesn’t stick if your bathroom was built to be a regular “get in - get out” type of bathroom.
As technology races forward at an ever increasing pace turning your bathroom into your private leisure resort becomes easier and cheaper day by day. Thirty years ago most you could do with your bathroom boiled down to a hot-tub, some creative lighting, some nice furniture and a bottle of champagne. Anything above that would have set you back a lot of cash, and you probably don’t even want to imagine what a huge CRT TV set standing on a cabinet next to the tub would look like. Today, you can have a hot tub with a TV screen built in, hi-fi audio taking care of the mood and air bubbles massaging your back while a computer controled set of dim background lights works it’s magic. You can even program everything so all you have to is get home from work and slip into the tub. Like the idea? We certainly do!

Does it stop there? Certainly not! How do you feel about a toilet with a TV, TiVo, Xbox360, a laptop, cooling fan (did we mention a mini fridge?), an ipod dock and a bunch of other essential appliances sound? In the nineties, if you told someone that in less than two decades you would be sitting on a toilet like that you would be lucky if they just laughed at you. Today, it’s not only possible, it has already been done!

While the “Pimped up John” is quite an exaggerated example of a modern bathroom appliance, it is not all that far from what everyone would like to see when they enter their bathroom. Most people will gladly settle for a lighter version for their hi-tech bathroom. A nice whirlpool bathtub, good audio system and a waterproof TV set and some modern furniture to go along with them will not set you back too much but will bring hours of fun and relaxation far beyond anything you have experienced at home before.
If you are planing on remodelling your bathroom, treat yourself with the full package and you won’t regret it, we promise!
