Newform, an Italian high quality bathroom faucet manufacturer best known for their Tattoo and Morpho collections, decided to start 2008 with three faucet collections that share a style we honestly did not anticipate to come from Newform. As names of the first two collections, Class-X and Neo Class-X suggest, the style is an elegant combination of classical and modern elements - simple and unobtrusive, yet intriguing, it suits both modern and classic bathroom designs equally well. Thanks to their versatility, these collections will certainly find many fans. As we predicted, 2008 is bringing a fusion of art and functionality into our bathrooms through high-end bathroom products which combine beautiful shapes with decorative elements, patterns and prints in vivid colors. An excellent example of the trend is Kos, a beautiful modern bathroom collection by Nova Linea. The collection features a simple, yet striking combination of both beautiful curved shapes and straight, sharp lines which combined create a really modern feel, further embellished by beautiful decorative patterns. ArtCeram released a teaser preview of the 2008 collections. We are very anxious to see the final products as the preview images do not reveal too much, but what is evident is that ArtCeram continues into 2008 with the same simple design approach that we liked so much in their recent products. We particulary liked the spoon inspired sink and the colored edges of the La Ciotola collection. There is unfortunately not much info on these beautiful additions yet, more info coming as soon as it is available.

2007 is behind us and as step into 2008, it’s the perfect time to have a quick look back at what 2007 brought into bathrooms worldwide. We have seen an increasing number bathroom products that utilize the beauty and practicality of LED lighting and we can only expect this trend to, deservedly, gain momentum in 2008. Wood seems to be making a real comback into modern bathroom design and glass seems to be increasingly present outside of it’s usual function in bathroom products. 2008 will take the the synergy of art, design and function in bathrooms even further as we witness more and more companies acknowledging the wishes of the consumers who seek much more than just bare functionality. As technology races forward at an ever increasing pace, bathroom products are evolving with it. 2007 brought us new water resistant TV sets, smart showers and faucets and mp3 bathtubs, and we expect the trend to continue with more hi-tech products seeing the light of the day, integrating high technology with many different products to improve and enhance our bathrooms. We are also likely to see more products that combine different bathroom fixtures into single units both to preserve space and enhance usability and convenience.
