Towel warmers are usualy at best dull looking, big metal things that you would like to take out of the bathroom but you can’t. The ones that will compliment the overall bathroom design with their looks can be very hard to find. However, not all towel warmers are dull looking, a perfect example is this one we found today. Built using electrically heated glass it is both visually unobtrusive and elegant and fully serves it’s purpose while preserving space. Nice, isn’t it?

A tub in your bathroom? Almost essential. A tub in your living room? Luxurious! A tub on your terrace or patio? Wow!
Yes, we are going to remind you how much we like it when companies make products that break the usual bathroom boundaries and integrate parts of them into the rest of the living space. One such amazing product is the Sundeck tub (well actually more than a tub, read below) by Duravit. Created ba the EOOS group of designers specificaly with versatility in mind, this tub will look as good in your bathroom, on your patio or anywhere where there is running water. What really sets this tub apart from others is it’s dual function. Let’s face it, if you install a tub in your living room or on your patio, chances are that you will be around it more than in it. Why let the tub just sit there, thought the folks at EOOS, let people use it even when they are not bathing! And so they created a tub that becomes a sundeck / lounger on demand, by simply opening the comfortable cover that serves as a headrest while folded. Beautiful, functional, WOW!

Axor Massaud faucet/mixer collection

Axor and french designer Jean-Marie Massaud bring us a touch of nature into the bathroom with the Axor Massaud collection. Resembling small waterfalls, these faucets produce a calming effect while the water runs gently and elegantly. There are a few options you can choose from - a floor-mounted shower/bath mixer, a tub-mounted bath mixer a number of beautiful washbasin and bidet mixers with the same waterfall effect. Along with mixers the Massaud collection has some interesting showers worth checking out although they are not nearly as beautiful as the mixer line. There is also a range of accessories you can choose from. Accesories include a toothbrush tumbler, soap dish, towel holder, toilet brush and roll holders, mirror, a hook to hang your bathrobe and they went as far as to design a vase made of crystal glass, candle stick and a cosmetic box in shape of a rock.

What could possibly be a better solution for a bathroom than a complete matching set by the same manufacturer. Crystal by Aquarama is a collection offering a variety of modern bathtubs, shower cabins and vanities with both the looks and functionality to please all tastes and requirements. It seems that times when you would either have to either spend a small fortune or spend hours upon hours trying to match up different elements for your bathroom are long gone as more and more manufacturers realize that simply making a couple of simillar looking elements that mimic the main one does not cut it anymore. All elements, when combined, must be equally appealing as every element alone while retaining all of their functionality.
There is a total of nine Crystal Hydrozone® whirlpools to choose from, including corner and freestanding options and every tub is avaliable in a total of 24 colors. They come with a full body massage system with adjustable intensity, a chromotherapy system and optionally Hydrozone®, an ozone therapy system. Seven different shower cabin options ranging from a small one person 90×75 cm corner cabin to a 150×90 (we have seen bathtubs smaller than this) luxuirios cabin with an adjustable chair and footrest are bound to accomodate your needs whatever they are. The wall-mount vanities also come in many variations and the finish can be matched to the tub / shower cabin.

Curtains? Try liquid crystal privacy glass

We all know a lot of light equals good mood, and those of us lucky enough to have the luxury of having a bathroom with many windows unfortunately often have to deal with another problem. That problem is privacy behind all those windows because nothing can really ruin a relaxing bath soaking session like seeing someone peeping at you from a window across the street. These problems are usually tackled by using curtains or positioning the tub and the shower away from the direct line of sight and while both options work, they often introduce their own set of problems to deal with, ranging from curtains that are always moist and dirty to lack of light which itself defies the purpose of having many windows in your bathroom. As technology advances, many everyday problems become easily solvable and that is the case with this one too. Privacy glass is basically normal glass with a thin layer of liquid crystals in the middle. When the switch is in on position the glass is completely transparent like any regular window, however, when you switch it off the glass becomes translucent, letting the light pass through, but the image behind the glass becomes blurred and you cannot see anything behind it.
While this technology has been available for a while, it is just starting to enter everyday use and what better place to use it than the bathroom? From keeping prying eyes off the bathroom while you are bathing to keeping the bathroom visible from the inside of your home while it’s not being used, the possible applications are numerous and we think privacy glass will find it’s way into more and more bathrooms soon.

Glass is, we feel, an essential material in bathrooms even though it’s rarely used outside the scope of mirrors and shower enclosures. Similar to water, transparent and neutral, it emphasises the fresh and clean relaxing feeling all bathrooms strive to achieve. These three washbasins by Art Ceram are visually intriguing and bound to capture the attention of anyone who walks into the bathroom. They come in two wall mounted, a single and a double unit, and one counter-top variation. For more info please go to ArtCeram website
