Putting together a dream bathroom, especially if you are trying to make a perfect match in both style and color, can sometimes feel like a real nightmare. Even if you match the style, if you are not buying everything from the same product line, matching the color s can cause much unwanted trouble. This is why we like vanity sets. Today we bring you Tempus and Tempus II modern vanity sets to take a look at if you are renovating or putting together a new bathroom.
The Tempus bathroom set would be ideal for a familly. It has two washbasins and two mirrors, neatly separated by a cabinet with two glass shelves. The set has three cabinets total, which are definitely spacious enough for everything you might want to put there. Both mirrors have halogen lighting built in, so you will not have to worry about getting enough light in front of the mirror. The vanity top, made of Carrara marble, emphasises the modern feel of this set. It also has a built in chromed towel hanger and the cabinets are protected by multi-layered acrilyc coated veneer which will prevent discoloration and wearing off.

Tempus II is, in contrast, better suited for people who live alone. It pretty much resembles the Tempus set, but has only one washbasin and thanks to this it takes up much less space than it’s larger version. It has a whitened oak finish that gives a warmer feel than Tempus, which comes in cobalt green. Tempus II has one tall slim mirrored cabinet with 4 glass shelves (which will be apreciated by the ladies, there is never too much space), and a big drawer to put all your bathroom supplies in. Tempus II also has a built in chromed towel hanger, halogen lighting and a handy under mirror shelf.
Faucets and plumbing hardware are not included in either of these sets. Both sets are priced a bit above the average, but there is more than enogh value for the money - in either case you will get an all-in one piece of bathroom furniture that has the potential to both define and match the style of your bathroom. The Tempus regular price is $10,999.98 at Simply Vanities but they are currenlty offering a generous discount, making the price $8,799.98. The Tempus II set is also on a discount at $5,999.98.

A TV set in the bathroom might not sound all that high-tech in todays day and age, but how would you feel about a TV that is embedded into your bathroom vanity mirror and when it’s turned off it blends in and becomes a part of the mirror itself? Whoever thought of this concept first is nothing short of a genious. If you liked soaking in your luxurious bathtub, wait untill you install a TV set and say goodbye to your living room sofa for good. And they dont only come inside vanity mirrors! Aquavision is offering shower/bath, mirror and towel rail sets, yes you’ve read that right - towel rail radiator with an TV that turns into a mirror when you switch it off! They don’t come cheap, not much to our surprise, but if someone really wants a TV set in the bathroom a dual function TV/mirror set is a hard option to beat. There seem to be more and more companies offering these waterproof LCD TV sets. Along with the afforementioned Aquavision, there are some interesting models from Seura and other companies.

We have always adored Philippe Starck’s work but we definitely feel this washbasin ranks as of his best designs ever. Despite it’s shape being as simple as they get, just like most of Starck’s designs, this basin has that something about it doesn’t allow you to take your eyes off of it. You will probbably be surprised to hear that this modern, minimalistic piece was designed in back in 1994! Starck’s designs are timeless. The elegant cone shape makes this washbasin a real space saver with only 58 centimeters in width. Despite the small dimensions, the baisn is spacious so when you rinse your face in the morning you won’t have the whole bathroom splashed with water.
Below the washbasin, Starck 1 #040658 also has a built-in cabinet. This is quite handy, because you will have one more thing to cross off the list whille getting pieces together for your modern self-indulgence oasis. There is enough space to put all the cosmetics and other products that make your bathroom look crowded because you can’t find any space for them.
We especially liked the dark casing finish, the unit also comes in a lighter color, but our favourite was and still is the dark one. Try combining it with big beige travertine tiles which will make this piece of modern beauty stand out, as it should.

Continuing in a happy and colorful mood today, we just had to share these glow-in-dark bathtubs by Italy’s Lavabo with you. The model is “Wet ltt”, 1750mm X 600mm high X 850mm wide and made in polyethylene with either an internal multicolour LED light fitting or a white light only fitting. They can create a dramatic effect in your bathroom although we think these would be better for a party setting, if only as scupltures. More info and online ordering at Lavabo Sinks

How many times have you woken up in the middle of the night and had to go to the bathroom? While wandering around the house in the dark might be someone’s idea of fun, knowing where to go is certainly more convienient. This is exactly what LED bathroom tiles can help you with. Aside from the functional aspect, what causes most people to “wow out lout” is the visual effect LED tiles create in the bathroom, both with the lights on and off. We have found three different LED tile product lines and we liked them all, but the Steuler Fliesen products won our hearts. Enjoy!

We probably do not need to tell you who Philippe Starck is, but if you do not know who he is read about him here. Instead, we will focus on the Axor Starck series of bathroom faucets that caught our eyes during our latest hunt for wow-worthy things.
The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity.
- Alberto Giacometti
If what mr. Giacometti said is true then Philippe Starck certainly did an excellent job with this series of faucets and related products. Comparing the photographs that inspired the products and the products themselves, we couldnt decide what we liked more. Both the inspiration and the results are breathtaking.

Here are some of the products from the series, we hope you like them as much as we did.
